The official and business delegation from Chongqing, the People’s Republic of China, visites the Republic of Mordovia

December 19, 2014 the official and business delegation from Chongqing, the People’s Republic  of China visited the Republic of Mordovia within the framework of cooperation between the regions of the Volga Federal District and the Upper, middle reaches of the Yangtze River.

During the visit Mordovia Development Corporation in cooperation with the Ministry of Economics and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Mordovia organized a round table. The representatives of the leading enterprises of the republic interested in the development of cooperation with the Chinese partners were invited to participate in the meeting. Vladimir Sidorov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Government – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Mordovia, presented general information about the region, the level of economic and agricultural development and the role of the region in the agricultural sector of the country.

Vladimir Mazov, the Minister of Economics of the Republic of Mordovia, presented the investment potential of the republic. Albert Iskandyarov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, spoke about several investment projects for Chinese partners to participate.

“Mordovspirt” JSC, “Lamzur” JSC and “Akvasar” Ltd. presented their investment projects and the samples of export products.

The representatives of Chinese business spoke about their enterprises, denoting the directions for cooperation with the Russian partners. At the end of the meeting Mr. HUANG  Shenzheng, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Committee of Agriculture, on behalf of the delegation thanked for the organized meeting and expressed interest in the development of cooperation between the Republic of Mordovia and the city of Chongqing.

During the visit the delegation also visited “Cheese-making plant “Ichalkovsky” JSC and agricultural complex “Druzhba”.  Following the visit, the sides agreed to continue cooperation in the most promising areas.

Chongqing (simplified Chinese: ; pinyin: Chóngqìng /tʃɒŋˈtʃɪŋ/) is a major city in Southwest China and one of the five national central cities in China. Administratively, it is one of the China's four direct-controlled municipalities (the other three are Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin), and the only such municipality in inland China.  The population is 7.5 million people (32,750,000. people reside in the District ofChongqing). The density of population is 397 persons/square kilometer.

Chongqing is one of the largest commercial centers of China. Industry takes the leading place in the economy of the city. Supporting industries are: chemical, mechanical engineering and metallurgy.
